Description
Man's coat or hunting coat for the Caledonian Hunt, in red or scarlet wool broadcloth. Turned down collar faced in green wool broadcloth, with red lapels. Double-breasted fastening with seven silver buttons, each etched with a slender fox jumping over a thistle. Fronts cut horizontally slightly above the waistline. Collar and shoulders stiffened and padded inserts underarm. Full-length sleeves, slightly gathered into shoulder, fastening with two small hunt buttons at wrist. Tails pleated at back waist decorated with hunt buttons. Worn by George Houston.
